Primary Care Practice Supervisor Large - GIM & Geriatics

About the role

The Primary Care Practice Supervisor is responsible for providing the daily leadership necessary to achieve the Ideal Primary Care Patient Encounter, ensure continued achievement of NCQA accreditation as a patient-centered medical home, and create an environment where primary care staff and providers are highly engaged in ongoing excellence in patient care experience, health outcomes, cost, and teaching the next generation of health care professionals.

The Primary Care Practice Supervisor, in partnership with the primary care site’s MD Site Leader, is accountable for the performance of individual care team members and for ensuring the goals for the site and primary care services overall are achieved. The supervisor will be an active member of the Medical Home Leadership Team (MHLT), focused on continually improving and standardizing key processes core to delivering highly reliable service and care.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations at the primary care site(s), including patient access, scheduling, insurance precertification, referral management, resource utilization, documentation, charge capture, service quality, and compliance with accreditation agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission and NCQA).
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards of care as defined by MHLT and clinical site staffing according to the primary care staffing model.
• Foster a culture of high-level customer service within the site(s).
• Provide administrative direction and coordination of current and long-range policies, procedures, and programs throughout the Medical Group and the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care, or a related field with 3 to 5 years of relevant leadership experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing with 5 years of relevant leadership experience required.
• Knowledge of physician practice operations and workforce development.
• Working knowledge of the health care financial environment, professional revenue cycle, electronic medical records, practice support systems, and related business operations.
• Knowledge of patient-centered medical homes is strongly desirable.
