Primary Care Physician (PCP)
About the role
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is currently recruiting Primary Care Physicians to deliver on-site outpatient primary care at the Hyannis VA Clinic located at 233 Stevens Street, Barnstable, MA 02601. The schedule is typically Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to Veteran patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform initial evaluation, treatment, and management of: minor wound care, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal illnesses, burns, musculoskeletal injuries, dermatologic conditions, ENT conditions, eye disorders, and urologic conditions
- Manage chronic diseases including: coronary artery disease, atherosclerotic vascular disease, Type I and Type II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression, and other chronic medical and behavioral health conditions
- Follow all VA medication management policies and procedures
- Ensure timely communication of patient test results
- Document all care in the VA Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Select and document appropriate Evaluation & Management (E&M) codes
- Complete documentation and coding by the end of each patient encounter
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities
- Attend Primary Care staff meetings (biweekly)
- Attend additional staff meetings as required
- Complete QA/QI documentation
- Participate in peer reviews, OPPE, and FPPE evaluations
- Report patient safety events within 24 hours using the VA Patient Safety Reporting System
- Follow all infection control and patient safety requirements
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Current BLS and ACLs through the American Heart Association
- NPI report printout
- Active DEA license
- Has and maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
- No sponsorship available
Physical requirements
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
