Primary Care Medical Assistant - West County Float

40 hours per week, day shift at our West County, MO location.

About the role

Prepares patients for provider visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including:

• Entering the chief complaint
• Taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies
• Completing thorough medication reconciliation
• Working the Encounter Guide to close open care gaps (e.g., fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, diabetic eye exam)
• Rechecking elevated blood pressures
• Completing documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed

Assists with in-office testing, including drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing. Administers vaccines and other injections within scope of practice. Schedules follow-up appointments per office policy. Collaborates with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate care plan delivery.

Requirements

Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office

Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Active LPN licensure
• Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office
