Medical Assistant Float - Primary Care
About the role
The PRN Medical Assistant will support telehealth visits across communities in Jacksonville, Florida and the surrounding regional area, ensuring seamless virtual care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate telehealth visits by setting up and managing iPad or mobile device connections between patients and providers
- Remain present during telehealth visits to assist with communication, positioning, and any real-time needs
- Obtain and accurately document basic patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and other requested measurements
- Support providers by relaying clinical information as needed during virtual visits
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly prior to each appointment
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Communicate effectively with facility staff, providers, and internal team members to coordinate care
- Assist with light administrative or clinical tasks as needed to support patient care operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in primary care, geriatrics, or assisted living/skilled nursing environments
- Experience with telehealth platforms or mobile health technology preferred
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) required
- PRN/as-needed basis, with flexible scheduling based on provider and community needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules and environments
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple locations within the business market area
