Primary Care Access Clinic - Okemos, MI - NP/PA

About the role

The Same Day Access Clinic in Okemos, MI is a new outpatient facility serving patients aged 13 years and older with minor acute illness and injury. The position is per diem, 8‑hour day shifts, within the Sparrow Medical Group of University of Michigan Health – Sparrow, which is committed to improving access to medical care across the Mid‑Michigan region.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients in assigned practice(s) under the delegated authority and supervision of physicians.
• Perform physical examinations and operative and/or invasive procedures as outlined in the individual collaborative agreement with supervising physicians.
• Diagnose and treat simple injuries.
• Consult with physicians on complex cases.
• Order routine laboratory and radiologic studies.
• Perform and interpret routine laboratory and diagnostic studies, EKGs, PFTs, and audiograms as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
• Assess patients, document care provided in the medical record, write prescriptions, and manage the care of assigned patients for physician review.
• Collaborate with the health care team in planning and coordinating care for patients.
• Counsel patients regarding preventative health care and wellness.
• Provide formal and informal education programs to practice staff and patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Michigan license as an NP or PA.
