Pricing & Procurement Manager
Position Description
White Star Logistics is growing rapidly and remains committed to sustained expansion. The organization aims to deliver 1,000,000 loads. This position carries significant analytical and strategic responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Own pricing strategy – Set and maintain pricing logic by lane, customer, and mode.
- Lead RFQ / RFP management – Serve as the primary owner of quote and proposal responses for target accounts.
- Set and enforce margin targets – Establish margin floors and approve exceptions within defined guardrails.
- Maintain spot pricing guidelines – Provide clear, current guidance for spot quotes and review exception requests.
- Track market intelligence – Monitor rates, fuel, seasonality, and capacity trends to keep pricing current and competitive.
- Benchmark carrier costs – Partner with Carrier Sales to validate cost assumptions behind every quote.
- Analyze profitability – Conduct customer and lane-level profitability analysis to guide pricing decisions.
- Build pricing tools – Develop and maintain rate sheets, calculators, and AI-assisted pricing prompts.
- Audit for leakage – Monitor margin performance and correct pricing leakage before it affects results.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an analyst role and/or a pricing function is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; proficiency across the broader Microsoft Office suite is a must.
- SLA-driven accuracy – Ability to analyze pricing data and submit bids within defined SLA timelines.
- High-volume quoting discipline – Ability to maintain accuracy standards in high-volume quoting environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound business judgment under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Technology-forward thinking – Ability to understand business process requirements and conceptualize creative, technology-enabled solutions to implement them.
- Data extraction experience – Experience performing data extraction utilizing relevant tools and platforms.
- Deadline-driven productivity – Must be able to work to deadlines and sustain high productivity levels.

Qualifications: Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, brokerage, pricing, or analytical roles.
- Familiarity with freight platforms such as Trucker Tools or DAT.
- Experience analyzing pricing, bids, or market data in a logistics or brokerage setting.
- Strong critical thinking and data interpretation skills applied to pricing and market analysis.
