Responsibilities
- Lead all contractual pricing initiatives, including enterprise RFPs, mini-bids, dedicated opportunities, and network optimization projects.
- Develop and execute pricing strategies that maximize revenue while maintaining target gross margins.
- Analyze transportation networks using historical shipment data, carrier performance, market conditions, and lane-level profitability.
- Build pricing models utilizing internal TMS data and external market intelligence.
- Manage bid submissions through platforms including Keelvar, E2open, and customer procurement portals.
- Interpret customer routing guides, pricing rules, accessorial requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Utilize market data from DAT, Truckstop, SONAR, RateView, and other transportation intelligence platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve network density and carrier utilization through strategic pricing.
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Carrier Procurement, Finance, and Executive Leadership on pricing strategy.
- Evaluate awarded business by forecasting: Revenue, Cost of Transportation, Gross Profit, Margin Performance.
- Track awarded lanes against actual execution and recommend pricing adjustments.
- Build dashboards and reporting that measure pricing performance, win rates, carrier costs, and customer profitability.
- Analyze spot market trends and provide recommendations for contract pricing adjustments.
- Support strategic customer meetings with pricing analytics and transportation recommendations.
- Develop internal pricing tools, templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor junior pricing analysts as the department grows.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of freight brokerage pricing experience.
- Extensive experience pricing truckload freight across North America.
- Hands-on experience with: Keelvar, E2open, DAT, Truckstop, FreightWaves, SONAR (preferred), RateView.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including: Pivot Tables, Power Query, Complex formulas, Scenario modeling.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong understanding of: Dry Van, Refrigerated, Flatbed, Specialized/Open Deck, Expedited Freight, Dedicated Transportation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of transportation RFP processes and contract pricing.
- Strong understanding of carrier economics, lane balance, seasonality, fuel markets, and transportation capacity cycles.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field (preferred).
