About the role
This is the first dedicated actuarial hire at Authentic. You'll report to our COO, a credentialed actuary who is currently covering actuarial leadership directly. You'll own the analytical work that our carrier partners, reinsurers, and internal underwriting teams depend on to write profitable business.
Responsibilities

- Build and own claim frequency reporting as a leading indicator of business mix shift and risk selection quality.
- Develop in-house loss development factors as credible historical loss data emerges.
- Assess in-house loss development patterns against currently adopted industry selections.
- Track carrier and reinsurance market conditions in our core classes, maintaining working relationships with reinsurance brokers, carrier partners, and industry contacts so pricing and capacity decisions are made with current market context.
- Partner with our data and engineering teams to move recurring analyses out of one-off spreadsheets and into repeatable, automated reporting.
- Support new program pricing, carrier submissions, reinsurance renewals, and diligence requests as they arise.
Requirements

- Program business, MGA/MGU, fronting, or delegated authority experience is a meaningful plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills.
