PREVOCATIONAL WORKER

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach concepts such as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem solving, and safety based on a specific curriculum related to youth with emotional challenges
• Absorb and facilitate appropriate work habits, acceptable job behaviors, explore career options and learn job production requirements
• Work flexible hours when required
• Attend and participate in service plan reviews as well as treatment meetings when appropriate
• Perform home visitation
• Perform all reasonable tasks assigned by the program supervisor and/or administrators

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years experience working with children or children with severely emotionally disturbed children, OR;
• Associate’s degree plus three (3) years of related work experience with severely emotionally disturbed children.
• Two (2) years’ experience working with transitional age youth or young adults a must.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively
• Occasionally required to stand; use mobility, handle, or feel and reach
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
