Prevention, Education, and Compliance Manager
About the role
The Prevention, Education and Compliance Manager (PECM) at California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) leads campus-wide prevention and education initiatives addressing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sex-based misconduct. This role develops and evaluates comprehensive programs for students, faculty, and staff while ensuring compliance with CSU policies, federal regulations, and California law.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate comprehensive programs for students, faculty, and staff addressing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sex-based misconduct.
- Ensure compliance with CSU policies, federal regulations, and California law through best practices and data-informed strategies.
- Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, staff, faculty, and community organizations.
- Manage projects and initiatives, including developing and delivering evidence-based educational programs and identifying trends and areas of focus.
- Administer campus climate surveys or similar large-scale assessment tools.
- Participate in systemwide prevention networks or cross-institutional collaborations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in prevention education, training, and outreach related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation and/or sex-based misconduct, including sexual violence.
- Exceptional public-speaking, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering evidence-based educational programs and initiatives.
- Ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
- Ability to act decisively under stressful situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in prevention education, training, and outreach related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation and/or sex-based misconduct, including sexual violence.
- Master’s degree or other advanced degree in a related field.
- Knowledge or experience in trauma informed civil rights prevention and outreach training or other compliance roles within higher education, public institutions, or similarly regulated workplaces.
- Specialized experience in Title IX, civil rights compliance, or sexual misconduct prevention.
- Experience administering campus climate surveys or similar large-scale assessment tools.
- Experience participating in systemwide prevention networks or cross-institutional collaborations.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $4,135 - $12,288/monthly. Budgeted Hiring Salary range is $4,135 - $8,000/monthly.
