Brook + Whittle, one of North America's leading sustainable labeling solutions providers, is seeking a Press Assistant to join our team.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid the Flexographic Press Operator with all aspects of make-readies and job production.
- Support operators with stage raw material rolls, load raw materials, make splices, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with changeovers and web breaks, label finished rolls, and maintain accurate roll number logs.
- Operate forklifts and Pit Crew equipment as required, report malfunctions to supervisors, and follow safety regulations.
- Understand and follow company policies, procedures, work instructions, safety rules, and regulations.
- Communicate regularly with the Press Hall Supervisor and assist with process improvements and productivity enhancement opportunities.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- S.M.E.D. Training desired.
- One (1) year of machine experience or more working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- Manufacturing environment – exposure to some hazardous conditions such as dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc.
- Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for the majority of shift.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp, climb and reach frequently.
