PRESCHOOL DAY CARE CENTER SUPERVISOR

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise before and/or after school day care programs
• Maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure successful operation of the day care program

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Meet one of the following:
  • A graduate degree in a child-related field and six months of programmatic experience
  • An endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field and one year of programmatic experience
  • Forty-eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child-related subjects, and one year of programmatic experience
  • Two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least one of the following education backgrounds:
    • A one-year early childhood certificate that consists of at least 30 semester hours
    • A child development credential
    • A certification of qualification from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization

Physical Requirements

• Light work requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount constantly to move objects
• Work requires stooping, reaching, standing, and walking
• Vocal communication required for expressing or exchanging ideas and conveying detailed instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Hearing required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
• Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
• Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
• Worker is subject to noise and may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens
• May be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment
