About the role
Blount Fine Foods is a family-owned and operated manufacturer, marketer, and developer of premium fresh prepared foods. We bring restaurant-quality products—including single-serve grab-n-go fresh soups, mac & cheese, and entrées—to grocery stores, hot bars, and restaurants nationwide. This role supports the creation of specialty-certified products such as organic, gluten-free, and low-sodium items.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all raw material preparation and the thaw process, as well as Production Sanitation activities.
- Train, coach, and manage Prep Supervisors and key personnel to ensure accurate, efficient, and cost-effective prep and delivery of fully kitted batches to Production.
- Maintain real-time, verifiable inventory within system guidelines.
- Ensure proper staffing levels while adhering to labor cost targets.
- Coordinate with Materials warehouse personnel to facilitate effective interdepartmental communication.
- Enforce compliance with Safety, lot tracking, QA, Allergen program, and procedural standards.
- Maintain consistency across shifts and enforce procedural adherence.
- Ensure timely kitted recipes and coordination between prep and production to eliminate downtime.
- Work with supervisors to meet pound-per-man-hour (PPMH) standards and ensure timely delivery to kettles.
- Enforce USDA and FDA labeling guidelines for all prepped raw ingredients and returned warehouse items.
- Coordinate with planning to ensure ingredients and preparation align with scheduled demand.
- Carry out managerial duties including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school; or 2–4 years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of supervisory/managerial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory and manufacturing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Schedule
This is a second shift position with hours from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Pay
$75,000–$80,000 per year.
