Prepress Technician - 2nd Shift

About the role

A Prepress Technician prepares client files for press layouts and final print production, ensuring every project is press-ready, color-perfect, and delivered with precision from screen to print.

Responsibilities

• Image plates according to job specifications
• Read and understand a job ticket as it applies to Prepress and Print Production
• Create/build layouts for jobs running on specific presses using Kodak Preps software
• Prioritize tasks based on the daily press schedule
• Edit customer files as requested/needed using Adobe Acrobat and Adobe InDesign
• Create PDFs for customer approval
• Output proofs using large format ink jet proofers
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to keep machines running
• Provide written communication regarding job issues to the department

Requirements

• Effective communication skills with other departments such as Customer Service and Pressroom
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines
• Organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through on projects with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in Prepress or Graphic Arts related field preferred but not required
