About the Role

The Preconstruction Estimator provides accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all estimations align with the company's strategic goals and client expectations. This role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to assess project requirements and develop detailed bids that reflect the scope and costs involved.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers during the preconstruction phase to refine project scopes and budgets.
  • Conduct market research to obtain current pricing data for materials and subcontractor services.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals to stakeholders and clients.
  • Analyze past project data to improve future estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies during the bidding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably in commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
