Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer-Global Enterprise Segment

Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth within a large pharmaceutical manufacturing customer by translating complex customer business needs into robust technical requirements and architectural designs.
- Lead the technical sales process from initial engagement to closed deals to displace competitors and increase market share.
- Partner with IT decision-makers and stakeholders to align Cisco’s cross-architectural solutions with their long-term strategic objectives.
- Execute demand generation campaigns and technical demonstrations that showcase the value of our portfolio in solving real-world challenges.
- Mentor extended sales teams and facilitate structured educational initiatives to elevate collective technical expertise and market responsiveness.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in a technical sales or solutions engineering role within the Networking industry.
- Proficiency in and experience with Cisco’s product portfolio and cross-architectural solution design.
- Experience leading technical engagements with IT decision-makers and Line of Business (LOB) stakeholders.
- Experience using reference architectures and resources to design and present technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP or CCIE certification.
- Other relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or Business.
- Proven track record of managing deals and projects through a structured technical sales process.
- Ability to influence strategic priorities and lead cross-functional virtual teams.
- Strong competitive market insights with the ability to differentiate complex technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering high-impact technical demonstrations to executive audiences.
- Experience in strategic account planning and demand generation execution.
- A proactive approach to mentoring peers and guiding structured knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $212,200.00 to $268,100.00 (U.S. and Canada locations), not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate’s hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. Below are the full salary ranges for specific locations:
- New York City Metro Area: $212,200.00 - $308,300.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $202,400.00 - $296,900.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

- Annual bonuses for non-sales roles, subject to Cisco’s policies.
- For sales roles: Performance-based incentive pay split between quota and non-quota components. Quota-based incentive pay structure:
- 0.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota.
- 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%.
- 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%.
- Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap.
Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
