BD&J, California’s leading personal injury law firm with over $3 billion recovered for clients, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our Los Angeles-based team. The ideal candidate will oversee high-value personal injury cases, focusing on medical treatment aspects, team management, and settlement negotiations for complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a team of case managers to ensure efficient handling of personal injury cases.
- Ensure clients receive appropriate and timely medical treatment.
- Directly handle settlement negotiations for high-value cases, striving for favorable outcomes.
- Review medical records and communicate with clients to document treatment progress and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, physicians, healthcare providers, and other parties to negotiate settlements.
- Monitor case timelines to ensure smooth progression through the pre-litigation process.
- Provide guidance and support to case managers, including gathering medical records and aligning treatment with case needs.
- Assess cases for settlement readiness and strategize on negotiation approaches.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for pre-litigation cases.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in California.
- 2+ years of experience handling personal injury cases, with a focus on settlement negotiations in high-valuation cases.
- Strong understanding of personal injury law, including medical treatment management and case evaluation.
- Proven track record of achieving favorable settlements through excellent negotiation skills.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to oversee and mentor a team of case managers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with clients and external parties.
- Ability to analyze complex medical and legal documents.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a high caseload.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
