Pre-Bid Manager

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Quarterbacks pre-bid strategy and manages the bid calendar.
• Validates price take-offs and scopes reviews.
• Manages vendor alignment throughout the pre-bid process.
• Sells talking points to clients regarding price cuts.
• Verifies power scope bids with clients.
• Hands off T&C negotiations and project management to the submittal team and RSM and PM teams.

Nature and Scope

• Identifies key barriers and applies creative problem-solving skills.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems independently.
• Determines and develops approaches to solutions.
• Evaluates results and makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
• Data analysis techniques are used to resolve missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Aged 18 or older.
• Passes pre-employment assessments if required.
• Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline or MS/MA with 2-5 years of experience in related fields.
• DBIA and/or PMP certification is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience specifically in bid preparation, sales, or construction.
• Treatment Plant experience.
• Strong computer skills.
• Extensive product knowledge of waterworks materials.
• Experience in a relationship and service-oriented role in manufacturing, distribution, or construction management.
• Formal project management training and/or PMI Certification.

Work Environment

• Most of the time spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent movement.
• Rarely requires moving or lifting heavy items.
• Located in a comfortable indoor environment.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
