Practice Manager II - Prattville Medical Park
About the role
The Manager, Physician Practices II will oversee the day-to-day operations of an employed physician clinic within the Baptist Health Physician Group. Responsibilities include managing personnel, staff training, ancillary services, financial management, purchasing/inventory, records management, quality improvement, corporate compliance, facility and equipment maintenance, and clinic physician relations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of an employed physician clinic
- Supervise all front-office and back-office staff
- Create and manage clinic budgets
- Oversee personnel management and staff training
- Manage ancillary services, financial management, purchasing/inventory, records management, and quality improvement
- Ensure corporate compliance and handle facility and equipment maintenance
- Facilitate clinic physician relations and work cooperatively with other Baptist Health departments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other health care related field (or 3-5 years of relevant experience with 2+ years of management/supervisory experience)
- RN is a plus
- CMPE, CPC, CHE, FACHE, or similar designation preferred
Qualifications
- Strong ability to manage people, processes, and technology in an ambulatory clinic setting
- Knowledge of physician licensure, insurance contracts, coding and billing regulations, and physician compensation plans
- Leadership and team building skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of TQM, Lean, and other process improvement methodologies
- Customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Computer literacy sufficient to work in a networked PC environment, utilizing standard business and medical software
- Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range
- Minimal noise levels
- Continuous exposure to computer work
- Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock
- Somewhat exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, radiation, and radiation
Skills
- Strong ability to manage people, processes, and technology in an ambulatory clinic setting
- Strong ability to create budgets and manage to budget objectives
- Knowledge of physician licensure, insurance contracts, coding and billing regulations, and physician compensation plans
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of TQM, Lean, and other process improvement methodologies
- Ability to anticipate issues and develop solutions
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of standard patient care equipment encountered in a medical practice
- Excellent computer literacy sufficient to work in a networked PC environment, utilizing standard business and medical software
- Strong sense of urgency, the ability to convey that sense of urgency throughout subordinate staff
