About the role

The Practice Manager at the Hutch Breast Center oversees daily operations, including patient referral coordination across disciplines, patient flow, and clinic scheduling to maximize efficiency and patient access. This position manages the practice’s non-clinical activities, supports multidisciplinary patient coordination, and monitors timelines of care. The role involves close collaboration with clinical teams, including Radiology and nursing leadership, to implement new services, workflows, and clinical programs. The Practice Manager also ensures smooth coordination of care with surgery teams, optimizes OR efficiency, and serves as an operational lead for breast center accreditation initiatives, including compliance with the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain policies and procedures to demonstrate ongoing compliance with accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, radiology, and other departments to support multidisciplinary breast operations and quality initiatives.
• Monitor monthly financial expenses and ensure accountability according to department goals and approved budgets.
• Collaborate with the Director and Cancer Service Line (CSI) leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for a streamlined team approach, growth initiatives, and integrated practice models aligned with the organization’s vision and mission.
• Handle all human resources matters, including hiring, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and termination coordination.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to improve productivity, quality standards, and community outreach opportunities.
• Work with Revenue Cycle leadership to build inter-department relationships, ensuring compliance with standard practices and hospital regulations.
• Analyze internal processes and implement procedural and policy changes to improve operations.
• Analyze and allocate resources to ensure efficient and effective use of manpower, facilities, and supplies.
• Facilitate the creation of training programs and oversee staff training for departmental programs and services.
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as the Joint Commission and Department of Health (DOH).
• Facilitate quality improvement projects for a highly efficient practice.
• Analyze dashboard metrics to optimize overall practice performance.
• Prepare monthly reports on practice volume, co-payments, and other financial metrics.
• Maintain excellent patient service satisfaction (Press Ganey values) and address all customer service reporting.
• Adapt rapidly to environmental changes, particularly during crises, and analyze complex issues with creative solutions.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, responding to change with flexibility to meet multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrate advanced leadership and managerial skills.
• Act as a liaison to other departments to promote the delivery of quality patient care.
• Participate in community outreach programs and other assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5 years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HCM, SAP, and EPIC.
• Experience with Strata (financial reporting) required.

Pay

$72,000.00–$90,000.00 per year.
