About the Role

The Practice Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nyack, NY, responsible for the day-to-day management of a busy medical practice. This role oversees clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, front-desk and administrative functions, and coordination with clinical staff to ensure efficient, patient-centered service. The Practice Manager monitors financial performance, supports budgeting and billing processes, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and documentation standards.

Daily activities include supervising and coaching staff, managing workflows and process improvements, handling escalated patient concerns, and maintaining effective communication with physicians, leadership, and other Highland Medical locations. The role also involves tracking operational metrics, supporting quality initiatives, and contributing to a positive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in medical practice operations, including scheduling, patient flow management, and coordination of front-office and back-office workflows.
  • Experience with healthcare administration, such as billing processes, revenue cycle awareness, budgeting support, and working with electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, conflict resolution, and team-building within a clinical environment.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills, including prioritizing tasks, managing multiple competing demands, and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with patients, clinicians, staff, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and best practices for patient safety and quality improvement.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office or similar tools) and comfort learning new practice management technologies.
  • Prior experience in a medical practice, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting in a supervisory or management role strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
