Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Builder to expand their Transportation Planning/Traffic practice in San Jose, California (CA)!

Responsibilities

  • Creates a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of the transportation engineering practice
  • Aids in marketing and business development efforts with existing local municipal, state, and private clients
  • Delivers a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway, and/or ITS-related projects with the growing team of transportation professionals
  • Beyond serving existing clients, pursues personal passions, leads, and clients
  • Manages leadership responsibilities including operating with integrity, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, and having open communication with partners and team
  • Grows and leads a Transportation/Traffic practice
  • Manages projects profitably, transitions work to qualified staff, grows and mentors staff, and acts as a positive leader and mentor
  • Given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • Eligible for a performance-based bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area
  • Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or local municipalities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
  • Effective communication at all levels of the organization
  • Strong management and mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

Pay

Base Salary Range: $165,000 - $280,000
Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
