About the role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is ready to transition from bedside care into education and make a lasting impact on future Practical Nurses. No prior teaching experience is required. We provide the training, curriculum, and support needed to help you succeed in the classroom.
The Practical Nursing Instructor is responsible for preparing future Licensed Practical Nurses through classroom instruction, skills lab demonstrations, and clinical guidance. This role leverages real-world nursing experience to help students connect nursing theory to practical patient care. Responsibilities
- Teach practical nursing concepts in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Demonstrate nursing procedures, clinical skills, and patient care best practices.
- Facilitate student learning through engaging instruction and real-world examples.
- Support students in developing clinical judgment and professional nursing skills.
- Mentor students throughout their educational journey.
- Provide coaching and support to promote student success.
- Evaluate student performance and competency achievement.
- Deliver timely and constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for successful NCLEX-PN examination outcomes.
- Reinforce core nursing knowledge and test-taking strategies.
- Support readiness for entry-level practical nursing practice.
- Participate in instructor training and professional development programs.
- Maintain professional knowledge and nursing practice expertise.
- Collaborate with academic leadership and instructional teams.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard technology tools
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- BSN and willingness to pursue a Master's degree in Nursing or related field within four years of hire
- Current Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field with BSN

$97,760 - $104,000 per year
$2,000 Sign-On Bonus
