Power Electronics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Power Electronics Research Engineer to develop innovative power electronics concepts, including system modeling, circuit design, testing, and device characterization. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to transition technologies from concept to product, contributing to power conversion solutions for energy generation, transmission, and distribution applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop new power technologies and capabilities for next-generation platforms
• Innovate within the power electronics space and communicate results through reports and presentations
• Stay current with industry technological developments
• Contribute to proposals for internal and external clients

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience, or a Master’s with at least 2 years of experience
• At least 3 years of research, design, and testing experience in power electronics, converters, and controls

Skills

• Familiarity with DC grid concepts, energy storage, microgrids, and renewable integration

Additional Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to obtain security clearances
• Willingness to work in Niskayuna, NY
