Poultry Scheduler
About the role
As the Manufacturing Scheduler in Poultry, you will schedule production orders by collaborating with the supply chain to review customer demand. You will ensure process orders released by supply chain align with production lab capacities and manpower to guarantee timely completion. This role also serves as a backup for team leaders, assisting with colleague engagement and directing the hourly workforce. All activities and decisions will adhere to Company policies & SOPs, Zoetis Values, and global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), as well as environmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand Poultry lab capacities and capabilities.
- Communicate with supply chain to understand and support fulfillment of process orders.
- Understand the timing and importance of process orders through SAP.
- Ensure timely release of process orders by coordinating with departments such as Process Specialist, Quality, Regulatory, EHS, Finance, Maintenance, Capital project managers, and Operational Excellence specialists.
- Participate in the annual budget process and quarterly financial reviews.
- Manage multiple simultaneous production schedules and create long-term and short-term production schedules.
- Participate in floor and lab operations, clean room audits, department meetings, and shift changes.
- Be flexible with daily start times to ensure salaried coverage across shifts.
- Be available for on-call support during evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Communicate with team leaders to support continuous improvement of production workflow, lab capabilities, and team performance.
- Participate in safety-related investigations and monthly safety meetings.
- Lead or participate in special projects as directed by the area Manager/Team Leader.
- Learn, understand, and support the completion of Manufacturing Batch Record Review and other applicable department documentation.
- Fulfill department-specific responsibilities as indicated.
Requirements
- Associates Degree with 2-4 years of leadership experience OR BS/MS/MBA with 0-2 years of leadership experience OR minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a Biologics manufacturing site.
- Relevant manufacturing or analytical experience in microbiology, biology, engineering, or other scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment to Zoetis Core Beliefs and leadership competencies.
- Ability to interact positively with all levels of colleagues, including senior leadership.
- Proven ability to achieve results.
- Knowledge of product flow through Poultry Manufacturing facilities, equipment capabilities, and constraints is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP Platform using MPS, MRP, and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP Enterprise Resource System.
- Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and team/group interactive and leadership skills.
- Commitment to product quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of 9CFR and EU regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Experience with Trackwise (Event Tracking System), Change Request, and Investigation Writing software is preferred but not required.
- Experience using Operational Excellence and problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, Minitab analytical software, and knowledge of lean tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for long periods.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Frequent reaching above shoulder level, bending/stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, and handling/gripping.
- Ability to work scheduled 40 hours with overtime as needed.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs.
- Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
