About the role
The Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
Responsibilities
- Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
- Achieve internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
- Facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments.
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.
- Review various feedback mechanisms and help identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction.
- Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams.
Requirements
- Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- BSN with 1+ year experience in healthcare.
- 1+ year in supervisory role.
- Specialty Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must: apply for Texas RN license within 60 days from hire / obtain current TX RN license within 6 months of application for TX RN license.
- BLS.
- ACLS preferred.
- L&D: NRP preferred / FHM preferred / RNC-OB preferred.
Qualifications
- BSN 1+ year experience in healthcare.
