Duties/Responsibilities

  • Use genetic screens, bioinformatics and microscopy-based approaches to discover and study novel genes products that contribute to the mechanisms of intracellular pattern formation.
  • Use the genetic model protist Tetrahymena thermophila.
  • Identify new components of the pathway using genetic suppressor screens.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Cell Biology, or Developmental Biology or Genetics.
  • Expertise in molecular biology, genetics and microscopy-based imaging.

Requirements

  • Position Summary: The postdoctoral researcher will study Hpo1, its interactions with other patterning proteins and its localization using super-resolution and immunogold electron microscopy.
  • Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with expertise in molecular biology, genetics and microscopy-based imaging.
