About the role
The School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking Postdoctoral Research Associates to enhance the impact of, and opportunities within, Information Sciences and related disciplines. These positions aim to support scholars who have completed their doctoral work by July 1, 2025, in strengthening their research, scholarship, engagement, and teaching portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Seek to strengthen research, scholarship, engagement, and teaching portfolios.
- Prepare for tenure-stream assistant professor positions.
- Be assigned to a faculty mentor for individual guidance and support.
- Develop research agendas.
- Demonstrate teaching readiness by teaching one course per semester.
- Serve on at least one service committee.
Requirements
- Successfully completed doctoral work by July 1, 2025.
- Strong research and scholarship background.
- Ability to teach effectively.
- Professional career aspirations in academia.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Information Sciences or a related field.
- Research experience in Information Sciences or related fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with teaching and service activities.
