About the role
The research groups of Carlos Meriles (CCNY, https://merileslab.com/), Andrea Alù (CUNY ASRC http://www.alulab.org/), and Qiushi Guo (CUNY ASRC, https://www.guo-lab.net/) invite applications for several postdoctoral positions in experimental quantum sensing, integrated photonics, and radio-frequency technologies.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of next-generation chip-scale quantum sensing platforms for electromagnetic field detection and computational imaging.
- Collaborate with researchers in quantum defects in solid-state materials, nanophotonics, microwave/radio-frequency control, advanced optical instrumentation, and scalable device integration.
- Participate in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment spanning multiple laboratories across CCNY and the ASRC.
- Contribute to both foundational science and emerging quantum and integrated photonic technologies.
Requirements
- Held a PhD in physics, electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or related disciplines by the start date.
- Strong background in one or more of the following areas: Quantum sensing and spin physics; Nanofabrication and cleanroom processing; Integrated photonics / nanophotonics; Lasers and optical systems; RF and microwave engineering; Electromagnetic simulations; Optical spectroscopy and experimental instrumentation; Computational imaging and inverse problems; AMO physics or quantum optics.
