About the role
The Chatterjee Laboratory in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in occupational medicine and toxicology. The laboratory is federally funded and conducts research on the gut‑liver‑brain axis, chronic metabolic diseases, and occupational hazards affecting Veterans. The postdoc will conduct research on microbiomics and proteomics associated with patient and preclinical samples, interpret data, and write research reports and manuscripts. The position offers opportunities for multi‑disciplinary collaboration and professional development, including publications, presentations at scientific conferences, involvement in proposal writing, and participation in community meetings and events. Job location: Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on microbiomics and proteomics of patient and preclinical samples.
- Interpret data and write research reports and manuscripts.
- Engage in multi‑disciplinary collaboration and professional development activities (publications, conference presentations, proposal writing, community meetings & events).
Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Life Sciences.
- Experience in wet‑lab research involving microbiomics and preclinical models.
- Knowledge of OMICS‑based data analysis and bioinformatics pipelines.
Qualifications
- Strong English written and communication skills.
- Evidence of scientific publications and conference presentations during PhD training.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $71,491–$85,736 annually, based on qualifications and experience (see Postdoc UC Salary Scale for details).
