Responsibilities

The Brody Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at Improving the Anti-Tumor Immune Response Induced by in situ vaccination. Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: the current phase of this longstanding Project is to potentiate tumoral recruitment of professional Antigen Presenting Cells, particularly type 1 Dendritic Cells (DC1) and assess the impacts on presentation and cross-presentation of surrogate and neo-epitope tumor antigens to tumor-reactive T cells as well as their subsequent priming and induction of systemic anti-tumor immune response. Recent advances in the development and understanding of mRNA-lipid nanoparticles has facilitated our preliminary data showing that specific DC-recruiting chemokines can be mRNA-encoded and produced by tumors in vitro and in vivo to increase DC1-migration.

Technical Duties:

  • Perform independent research in the area of cancer immunotherapy and molecular biology, to develop in silico, in vitro, and in vivo data and models to assess the impact of chemokine-mRNA-LNP therapy on DC1 recruitment and induction of in situ vaccinal anti-tumor effects.
  • Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people.
  • Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants.
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research.
