Responsibilities
- Evaluate neuronal control of macrophage function in the heart using fundamental science tools.
- Test how neurotransmitters and neuropeptides modify macrophage subsets and inflammatory processes in the heart and its vasculature at steady state, after myocardial infarction, during atherosclerosis, or in the context of other cardiovascular pathologies.
- Technical duties include mouse modeling and handling, flow cytometry, advanced confocal imaging of the heart, single cell sequencing, and neuronal manipulation methods like neuronal ablation, neuropeptide deletion, and brain circuit manipulation.
- Molecular assays like protein quantification or mRNA expression may also be involved.
Qualifications
- PhD in Neuroscience, Immunology, Physiology, or related field.
- Experience with mouse models and handling, flow cytometry, and advanced imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and single cell sequencing.
- Experience with neuronal manipulation methods and brain circuit manipulation techniques.
- Strong publication record in relevant fields.

$74,692 annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
