About the role

The Kasper Laboratory in the Department of Environmental & Public Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati, seeks a full-time staff member to conduct cutting-edge research on prostate cancer metastasis. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on prostate cancer metastasis, focusing on molecular mechanisms, post-translational phosphorylation, and cell-cell interactions within the tumor microenvironment.
  • Investigate the roles of secretomes and extracellular vesicles in cancer progression.
  • Utilize advanced bioinformatics tools and single-cell sequencing technologies to analyze complex datasets.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers.
  • Disseminate research findings through publication in high-impact journals and presentations at international conferences.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Molecular Medicine, Cancer Biology, or a closely related field.
  • Significant skills in assays for flow cytometry, Image stream, bioassays, cellular transfections, primary cell culture from clinical biopsy samples, bioinformatics, including single-cell or spatial sequencing analyses.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of scientific publications in relevant fields.
  • Experience in processing clinical samples, submitting and making approved changes to IACUC or IRB protocols, managing mouse models for experiments, including injecting, imaging, and harvesting of mice and materials, maintaining adequate stocks of lab supplies, and training new Research Assistants, Graduate Students, and Fellows.

Skills

  • Strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
  • Experience with advanced bioinformatics tools and single-cell sequencing technologies.
  • Collaborative and independent working abilities.
