Job Overview
The Kasper Laboratory in the Department of Environmental & Public Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati, seeks a full-time staff member to join a multidisciplinary team focused on investigating mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and metastasis. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
Essential Functions
- Significant skills in assays for flow cytometry, Image stream, bioassays, cellular transfections, primary cell culture from clinical biopsy samples, bioinformatics, including single-cell or spatial sequencing analyses.
- Manage and maintain lab supplies and laboratory equipment coordinating with service technicians when necessary.
- Supervise high school, undergraduate, and medical students and their projects.
- Process clinical samples, submit and make approved changes to IACUC or IRB protocols, manage mouse models for experiments, including injecting, imaging, and harvesting of mice and materials.
- Maintain adequate stocks of lab supplies and train new Research assistants, graduate students, and fellows.
- Submit and make approved changes to IACUC or IRB protocols.
Required Education
- BS in biology, or a closely related field
Required Experience
- Experience in using mouse models for cancer research projects.
