Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in immunology or a closely related field. Experience with flow cytometry, cellular immunophenotyping, immunology studies with mice and/or humans, and a record of first-author publication(s).
About the role
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist Principal Investigator Dr. Samuel Becker in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology. The Becker lab studies adaptive immunity in the context of human bacterial pathogens (tuberculosis, Rickettsiae) and tick-borne diseases, focusing on the protective or pathogenic role of antigen-specific CD4+ T cells. Approaches combine mouse models of disease with analysis of human clinical samples using state-of-the-art immunological techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments in immunology within the predetermined research scope and methodology.
- Participate in or assist with manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and presentations.
- May assist in grant writing.
- Maintain lab operations, including equipment maintenance and ordering supplies as needed.
- Attend scientific conferences and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in immunology or a closely related field.
- Experience with flow cytometry and cellular immunophenotyping.
- Experience with immunology studies involving mice, humans, or both.
- Record of first-author publication(s).
Preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Single-cell genomics and/or computational analysis of biological datasets.
- CD4+ T cell biology or adaptive immunity.
- Immunophenotyping and ex vivo assays on human clinical specimens.
- MHCII tetramer studies.
- Collaborative research projects involving human clinical specimens.
Pay
Starting salary range: $61,000–$72,000.
Schedule
Full-time, FLSA exempt position.
