The Center
The Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness (CYSEW) is located within the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
Mission
The mission of CYSEW is to ensure that Rutgers mental health expertise and resources directly benefit the New Jersey community and align with community goals, values, and needs as articulated by the community. CYSEW promotes partnerships across disciplines and organizations to improve continuity of youth mental health and wellness services in New Jersey, aiming to increase access to comprehensive and holistic care.
Goals
- Promote youth mental health equity
- Promote positive mental health and wellness for adolescents and emerging adults
Flexibility
- Percent effort for clinical work, research, and community engagement is flexible
- Opportunities for both in-person and remote work, up to two days per week

Partnering Organization
CYSEW collaborates with the Brandt Behavioral Health Treatment Center and Retreat, a state-of-the-art outpatient and inpatient facility serving the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead assessment of patient outcomes at the Brandt Center
- Publish from data collected at the Brandt Center
- Collaborate with faculty on grant proposals
Qualifications
- Extensive expertise with mental health assessment, including using semi-structured diagnostic interviews to diagnose ADHD and common comorbid conditions
- Strong expertise in treatment outcome research and/or community program evaluation
