Postal Courier (#017275) Camille Graham Correctional Inst. Columbia (RICHLAND) Level 2

Coordinates institutional postal operations for the inmate population under minimal supervision. Acts as liaison between U.S. postal officials and institutional personnel, handling official postal business.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard routine operational procedures to conform with U.S. postal regulations and SCDC policies.
• Assists in maintaining accountabilities for all funds concerning postal operations and money instruments of inmates.
• Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
• Processes inmates' outgoing mail.
• Operates CRT for the sales of postage and E.H. Cooper requests.
• Handles mailroom requisitions, daily and monthly reports, and correspondence regarding mailroom activities.
• Answers requests from staff and inmates regarding mail concerns.
• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
• Must become a notary within three (3) months of accepting the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• One (1) year of work experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations (an associate degree or higher may substitute for the required work experience).
