About the Role

The Post-Harvest Lead will direct workflow and lead others in a positive, productive manner. This role is responsible for overseeing 15-20 employees and managing the workflow of trimming and quality control (QC) in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable directing others and performing tasks themselves, working with the Manager and Quality Assurance to inspect product during trim for quality defects and ensure compliance with company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees adhere to the company’s Uniform and Attendance policies.
  • Provide proper training for tasks and ensure completion according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Address employee questions regarding tasks and escalate as needed.
  • Collaborate with the department Manager and trim tech employees to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Conduct daily team meetings to review tasks for the day.
  • Maintain a clean work area on a daily basis.
  • Complete daily room assessments to ensure product quality.
  • Track supply inventory and submit weekly order forms.
  • Report updates, problems, or comments to Management regularly.
  • Respond to Manager’s emails unless specified otherwise.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cannabis handling and trimming.
  • Familiarity with local and state regulations, with an emphasis on continual learning and sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Ability to identify potential problems with plants or processed product and communicate them to management and grow staff.
  • Self-motivation, innovation, and the ability to work well with all team members and supervisors.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and strong computer skills for managing a centralized cannabis tracking system.
  • Superior time management skills to drive efficiency, productivity, and high-quality finished product.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of trimming techniques and cannabis pests/diseases.
  • Prior experience in trimming or quality assurance within the cannabis industry.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and transport such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Able to work seated/standing for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Must be able to use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, or pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Able to handle organic matter daily and wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection).
  • Able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
  • Visual acuity (with/without job aids) for reading, viewing computer terminals, and inspecting small parts/details.
  • Able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels in moderate noise environments.

Schedule

40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
