Post-Doctoral Research Associate

About the role

The Laboratory of Archaeology at The University of Georgia anticipates being able to hire a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Geographic Information Systems and Computer Modeling in Archaeology.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Development of probability models taking into account key environmental differences across the state of Georgia
• Identifying “at risk” sites endangered by erosion and flooding
• Directly working with ITOS to integrate developed models into online databases
• Potential management of undergraduate and graduate student assistants in the Laboratory
• Collaboration on publications related to this project

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field from a CHEA accredited institution or international equivalent
• Demonstrable skills using ArcGIS
• Knowledge of environmental modeling
• Familiarity with state site file data-sets
