A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Swarup Mitra at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
Research Focus
Our laboratory investigates how interactions between the gut microbiome and the brain influence behavior, neural plasticity, stress susceptibility, and disease vulnerability.
Current NIH-funded projects examine mechanisms by which microbial and host-derived signals influence neural circuits and cellular processes, including astrocyte and oligodendrocyte biology, neuroimmune signaling, epigenetic regulation, and behavioral adaptations.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology in Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, or a related discipline
- Ph.D./Ed.D. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
Good communication and interpersonal skills are preferred to facilitate interactions with faculty and students.
