Possessions and Responsibilities
- Develops understanding and skills to allow for completion of assignments that cross fields of specialization.
- Develops leadership and management skills.
- Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
Supervision and Oversight
- May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
Technical and Administrative Duties
- Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
- Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
- May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
- May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
- May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
Undergraduate Program Management
- Cook up staffing for undergraduate educational technology courses.
- Work with teacher education faculty to schedule courses.
- Revise curriculum to reflect current tools and best practices.
Graduate Program Management
- Assist in advising M.Ed. students and coordinate M.Ed. Capstone projects, including reviews, follow-up, and feedback.
- Support faculty in teaching courses.
- Review the curriculum of M.Ed. Learning, Design, and Technology elective courses, recommend updates, and assist faculty with approved revisions.
Mentorship
- Absorb the mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students, including coordinating doctoral research assistants on LDT faculty research projects.
Dissemination
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant-related reporting, and presentations at academic conferences.
Recruitment
- Aid in recruitment of master's students to the M.Ed. program.
- Coordinate and assist with the review of new doctoral applicants.
Teaching
- Teach one graduate course and one undergraduate course per semester.
