Use your skills and enthusiasm to help deliver new employee training programs at one of the world's premier research institutions. As a member of the Weapons Mission Services, New Employee Training and Workforce Development Group (WMS-1), you will apply your customer service, coordination, logistics, and computer skills to support new employees throughout onboarding, orientation, and training within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP).

Responsibilities

Working closely with the New Employee Training Onboarding Team, you will play a key role in ensuring a seamless onboarding experience by supporting new hires and coordinating program activities. Responsibilities include data entry, scheduling, program execution, customer service, and collaborating with organizations across the Laboratory to support mission-critical operations.

  • Provide navigational guidance to a cohort of individuals, including getting to know LANL, following program schedule, and addressing new hire inquiries
  • Assist efforts for program component implementation, administration, coordination, and planning
  • Learning Management System Administration (issuing credit, managing course registration, course management, running reports)
  • Ensure team deliverables and commitments are met with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Operational Functions: Basic knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and feedback and improvement.
  • Computer Skills/Business Systems: Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e., Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (i.e., Oracle, UTrain, etc.). Ability to effectively manage multiple, complex and overlapping calendars.
  • Critical Thinking: Entry-level experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations and operational quality assurance.
  • Communication: Basic ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree and experience with orientation and initial training processes in an organization.

Schedule

This position requires working onsite full-time in Los Alamos, NM.

About the Organization

Located in Northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.

Clearance: This position requires a Q clearance. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
