About the role

The Port Operations Analyst supports the efficiency, performance, and cost management of port and shoreside operations for Margaritaville at Sea. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing day-to-day port operations
  • Evaluating port throughput and passenger flow
  • Reviewing and analyzing port-related expenses
  • Tracking and evaluating vendor performance
  • Developing and maintaining operational reports and dashboards
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements
  • Auxiliary duties such as scheduling, risk identification, compliance monitoring, and special projects

Responsibilities

Operational Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor vessel turnaround times, embarkation/debarkation efficiency, and on-time departures
  • Identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities

Turnaround & Throughput Optimization

  • Evaluate port throughput and passenger flow
  • Support efficient vessel turnarounds
  • Enhance the overall guest experience

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Review and analyze port-related expenses
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure budget adherence

Vendor & Partner Performance Management

  • Track and evaluate vendor performance
  • Ensure service level expectations and contractual obligations
  • Maintain operational standards

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs)

Process Improvement & Efficiency Initiatives

  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Support implementation of process improvements

Scheduling & Operational Planning Support

  • Aid in port scheduling and berth planning
  • Coordinate resources to ensure operational readiness

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Marine Operations, Guest Services, Safety, and Finance teams
  • Work with port authorities and external partners

Risk Identification & Issue Resolution

  • Monitor operational risks and disruptions
  • Provide data-driven insights for mitigation strategies
  • Assist in resolving issues impacting port performance

Compliance & Standards Monitoring

  • Support adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards

Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects

  • Conduct ad hoc analysis
  • Support special projects, including new port launches and strategic initiatives

Data Integrity & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of operational data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 2–4+ years of experience in operations analysis, logistics, maritime operations, port operations, or a related field
  • Experience in the cruise, shipping, or transportation industry preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of port operations, logistics, and terminal processes
  • Knowledge of operational performance metrics, including turnaround times and throughput efficiency
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and reporting
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights to diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, including vendors and port authorities
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time

Travel

  • Periodic travel is required, including travel aboard company cruise vessels

Work Conditions

  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
  • This position is classified as “in-person,” meaning the physical office is in Orlando
