About the Role

The Nurse Intern performs basic nursing procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. Must maintain the flexibility necessary for rapidly changing assignments. Performs the functions of a Nurse Intern in carrying out all assignments given by the registered nurse with a minimum of continuous supervision. Is accountable to the nurses for all patient care he/she gives during a shift. Is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic nursing procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Maintain flexibility for rapidly changing assignments.
  • Carry out all assignments given by the registered nurse with minimal continuous supervision.
  • Provide patient care during a shift and be accountable for it.
  • Adhere to all standards of nursing care and promote teamwork among co-workers.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Successful completion of medical surgical nursing course and clinical.
  • Upon graduation, must successfully pass the NCLEX within 90 days.
  • Maximum length of time in role is 15 months.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification/training/experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • No prior experience required.

Pay

Estimated pay range for this position is $23.50 per hour, depending on shift.
