Pool Manager - Lions Junction (PT/Seasonal)

About the role

Responsible for the safe operations and supervision of City swimming pools. Provides leadership and technical assistance to aquatics team. Enforces aquatics facility rules, policies, and procedures. Maintains open communication with patrons and aquatics team. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervises and manages the daily pool operations; maintains clean and safe facility
• Aids in planning, training, evaluating lifeguards and monitors pool programming
• Generates and implements schedules, lifeguard rotation, and daily assignments
• Maintains activities and ensures lifeguards observe swimmers, inspect equipment and pool area is properly maintained/cleaned
• Provides instructions and prevents accidents in the aquatic’s facilities
• Manages pump room procedures including chemical readings, balancing and filtration
• Hyper-chlorinates pool water when there is an incident
• Inspects facility regularly and reports immediately any unsafe conditions/equipment
• Monitors safety guidelines and ensures proper rescue techniques are performed
• Manages first aid or CPR according to prescribed procedures; notifies emergency medical personnel when necessary
• Affords assistance with front desk operation and transactions
• Performs safety inspections and basic maintenance procedures to assure safety
• Ensures the pool and the related pool areas are clean and maintained
• Uses RecTrac for daily attendance and maintains financial and operating records/reports
• Manages routine disciplinary issues, documents incidents, and communicates each to the supervisor
• Affords assistance with special recreational activities such as athletic events, instructional programs, special projects
• Attends in-service training weekly to review lifeguard skills
• Arrives to assigned shift on time; adheres to attendance and shift trading policies
• Drives between designated aquatics facilities
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two seasons of experience as a lifeguard
• One season of experience in a manager role or performed similar leadership responsibilities in related area
• Knowledge of water safety practices and usage of water safety equipment
• Pass swimming skills test and basic water safety practices and usage of water safety equipment test

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English & Spanish
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Current certification with American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aide
• Valid driver’s license
