About the role

As part of our Sleep Diagnostic team, you will partner with physicians and staff to provide patient-centered care and outstanding service delivered with respect. Your expertise will allow you to advance the patient plan of care to achieve the best possible outcomes. You’ll work with patients and families to provide age- and culturally-appropriate care, treating and evaluating patients with sleep disorders. Responsibilities include implementing conventional ventilation methods and performing duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, and storing respiratory equipment. This position requires the ability to work alone with a 2:1 patient ratio, including on-the-fly scoring and report completion. Patient ages range from 4 to 99 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with sleep disorders
  • Implement conventional ventilation methods
  • Set up, operate, clean, and store respiratory equipment
  • Perform on-the-fly scoring and complete reports
  • Administer a variety of sleep tests, including OPSG, MSLT, CPAP/BIPAP titrations, and TITRATIONS
  • Prepare patients for tests, administer tests, define preliminary reports, score tests, and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors
  • Evaluate and provide exceptional care for patients with sleep disorder insufficiencies

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Sleep or Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) license
  • Registered (RRT) by the NBRC or eligible
  • Minimum of two (2) years of scoring experience with polysomnograms or Respiratory Therapy (sleep experience preferred)
  • Experience working in a Sleep Lab performing a variety of tests, including OPSG, MSLT, and CPAP/BIPAP titrations
