About the role
The Sleep Apnea Center Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital Sleep Center is a state-of-the-art outpatient sleep facility dedicated to diagnosing and treating various sleep disorders such as snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and periodic limb movement disorder. The center provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.
Core Responsibilities
Reports to the Sleep Manager under the supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist. Under the general supervision of the Medical Director and designee, this position may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, or patient care and education.
Qualifications
- Preferred associate’s degree
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred currently enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP or STAR designated online Self Study Modules in preparation for certification exam
- OR, completed ASTEP didactic education program
- OR, in a formal polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option
- Familiar with the field of sleep medicine with progressive completion of an A-STEP or other CAAHEP program
- Preferred: CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
- Preferred: CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC
- Preferred: CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT
- 1 year required: CRT-Respiratory Therapist Certification - NBRC
- 1 year required: CRT-REGISTERED_SLEEP_TECHNOLOGIST-ABSM
