echnical Specialist - P&C Insurance Applications & SQL ServerLocation: Remote / Hybrid (TBD) Employment Type: Contract-to-HireOverviewWe are partnering with an established insurance organization seeking a hands-on Technical Specialist to support and enhance its Property & Casualty (P&C) policy administration systems.This position requires strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise, particularly in writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures, alongside experience supporting and configuring insurance policy administration platforms.The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining existing systems while contributing to the implementation and integration of a new policy administration platform.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, views, and database scripts to support business operations, reporting, and troubleshooting.Investigate and resolve complex application and data-related issues within P&C policy administration systems.Support configuration changes involving rating tables, business rules, workflows, forms, and policy administration processes.Contribute to the implementation of a new policy administration platform, including data migration, reconciliation, testing, and production support.Troubleshoot integrations and data flows between policy administration systems and other enterprise applications.Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and external vendors to identify and resolve technical issues.Support ongoing application improvements, documentation, and change management.Required ExperienceIntermediate / Advanced Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL skills, including extensive experience developing, modifying, debugging, and performance-tuning stored procedures, complex queries, views, joins, and CTEs.Strong understanding of relational databases, data structures, and SQL performance optimization.Experience supporting, configuring, or troubleshooting P&C insurance policy administration systems.Good understanding of P&C insurance processes, including policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and billing.Experience investigating production application issues and performing root cause analysis.Exposure to application implementations, system migrations, or major platform upgrades.Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and business stakeholders.Desirable ExperienceExperience with platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Insurity, OneShield, BriteCore, or similar.Familiarity with application integrations, REST APIs, and data migration processes.Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and modern enterprise technologies.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong SQL Server specialist with P&C insurance experience to take ownership of business-critical applications and contribute to a significant platform modernization initiative.
