About the role
The City of Huntsville’s Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the Police Records Clerk position. This is clerical work providing a variety of specialized office tasks in the Records Division of the Police Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of specialized office tasks in the Records Division of the Police Department.
- Apply standard procedures to a variety of details requiring some independent analysis.
- Select and interpret data with judgment.
- Upload, download, and manage police-related reports and other documents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in performing varied office support services.
- Able to type a minimum of 30 wpm.
- Obtain NCIC/ACJIS Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pass a pre-employment supplemental application.
- Pass a pre-employment polygraph examination.
- Pass a fingerprinting background check.
Qualifications
- Self-schedule a mandatory position overview and typing test at the Public Safety Complex.
- Successfully pass a typing test with at least 30 wpm.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills.
