Duties
- Assigned to a school as a school resource officer
- Conduct victim, witness, and suspect interviews
- Prepare detailed police reports
- Make arrests
- Testify in court
- Interact with community members
- Perform other police functions as assigned and as needed
Requirements
- Former police officer with no more than two years separation from previous employment
- US citizen
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass a physical agility test
- Valid Virginia driver's license with no more than six demerit points in the past twelve months or a DUI conviction within the past four years
- Binocular vision of 20/25 corrected
- Weight in proportion to height
- No conviction of felonies and/or habitual misdemeanors
- No conviction of, or guilty plea or no contest plea to, any misdemeanor sex offense or any domestic assault
- Pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph, psychological, medical, and drug screening
- Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required
Qualifications
- Must be a former police officer with no more than two years separation from previous employment
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have a high school diploma or GED

Pay
This position pays $54.00 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts are scheduled according to assignment needs to provide full-time operational hours exclusively during academic sessions up to a maximum of 1,456 hours annually.
